Regional Conference Messages From Phil Strout

Earlier this year Phil Strout gave three talks at the Vineyard Church of Davenport during their regional conference. These three talks answer a lot of questions from those who either don’t know Phil or are wondering about the future of the Vineyard Movement in the USA. Below is a quick summary of all three talks:

* Part 1 – Phil starts the conference off by introducing himself to the movement via stories about his life, including how he met Jesus and, later, the Vineyard movement.

* Part 2 – The main focus on this talk is to remind the Vineyard that our mission statement is the same one that Jesus had (Luke 4:18-19). We are to continue to do what Jesus as told us to do – preach the word, preach the word, and preach the word. Old orders, as Phil says, are good orders.

* Part 3 – At the beginning of this track Phil talks a bit about prophecy and then has the people break up in to groups of two and practice. He also touches a bit on the gift of tongues as encourages people to take care of themselves. Statistically there are way too many pastors and Jesus followers crashing and burning in the USA, as such we need to stay connected with each other and take care of our spiritual soul (which praying in tongues does – 1 Corinthians 14:4a).  Phil also talked about how the new board is working on developing a coaching system for churches under 150 people – something I’m really excited about. 🙂

Lastly, Phil drops hints that in July 2015 there will be a global conference of Vineyard churches with folks from 61 different countries! I, for one, cannot wait for this conference as it will be a chance to hear stories from around the world – not to mention worshiping with brother and sisters in their heart language. 😀
