Ethnic Makeup of the USA

University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service has released a cool map of the USA showing the ethnic make-up of the nation. Using the 2010 Census data, the map (which is crazy detailed!) uses a color dot for each person in the nation according to their race (White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, Other Race/Native America/Multi-Racial).

The result is pretty cool – showing, as to be expected, large groups of African American populations across the South, Hispanic throughout the Southwest, Whites in the Mid-West and Asians along the west-coast. The map also highlights the population centers of the US, which is kind of cool in and of itself.
