I was listing to a sermon about “courage” yesterday by an Indian pastor – which, considering the violence against believers in India over the past year, means a lot!!

In the middle of the sermon, the pastor makes a side comment which is actually pretty profound.

He begins by remembering the color books of his youth about Daniel and the lions den. In these books, as in the one I grew up with, Daniel is always depicted as a young man. Yet, in reality, he would have been in his 90’s!!

Yelp.

Daniel was an old man when he was tossed into the lion’s den. [@more@]

That makes the comment about his enemies not being able to find any “dirt” on him all the more impressive – especially concerning that he would of served four previous kings from three different empires!!! Shoot – our politicians can’t even make it from one president to another let alone a different country!

May we continue in the Presence of the Lord so that we might endure as Daniel did.
